Prof. Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla is the new Director of Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) at Roorkee.
Dr. Ashok Kumar is among this elite group recognized for the exceptional research influence, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science™.
Dr. Vineet Gandhi was adjudged as an outstanding reviewer at the 39th International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML-2022) held at Baltimore, Maryland from 17 – 23 July.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Das has been included in the list of Web of Science (Clarivate™) Highly Cited Researcher 2022 in recognition for his exceptional research performance demonstrated by production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% for field and year.
Dr. Pawan Kumar was awarded the Qualcomm Faculty award-2022 in March.
Research of Dr. Y Raghu Reddy, Prof. Vasudeva Varma and Lalit Mohan S on Information security search engine, has been granted a U.S Patent. The title of their invention is System and Method for Retrieving and Extracting Security Information.
Prof. Nand Kishore Acharya, Center for Exact Humanities (CEH), has been awarded Maharana Kumbha Samman 2012 for outstanding contributions to Hindi literature.
Harit Pandya (PhD student) from Robotics Research Center (RRC) and Saurabh Saini (PhD student) from Center for Visual Information Technology (CVIT) received TCS PhD fellowship for the year 2013.
Dr. Neelima Satyam, Earthquake Engineering Research Center (EERC) received the Young Engineers Award 2011-12 from Institution of Engineers.
P. Raghu Nandan Vyas (PG2, MTech-CASE) and Akash K. Chauhan (PG1, M.Tech CASE) won first prize in IASTRUCTE – S. C. Mehrotra Essay Competition. This award is given to students by Indian Association of Structural Engineering.
M. Kumaraswamy (PhD student) received the best paper presentation award for the paper “Village-level eSagu: A Scalable and Location-Specific Agro-advisory System” in National Seminar on Futuristic Agricultural Extension for Livelihood Improvement and Sustainable Development in January 2013 at Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
IIIT-H team represented India for a record 5th time in a row at finals of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest held in St. Petersburg.
Seven PhD students received fellowships:
– 5 from TCS
– 1 from Google
– 1 from Microsoft Research.
Sanchari Sircar (PhD student), Center for Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics (CCNSB) were awarded the Best Poster and Oral Presentation Award for their paper Gene Co-expression Network Analysis of Oryza sativa under Abiotic Stressat  Symposium on Accelerating Biology.
Prof B. Yegnanarayana, Signal Processing and Communication Research Center (SPCRC) – elected as ISCA (International Speech Communication Association) Fellow for his outstanding contributions to research and education in processing of speech. – awarded The Syed Hussain Zaheer Medal (2014) by the Indian National Science Academy.
Siladitya (PhD student) and Sandhya (PhD student), Center for Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics (CCNSB) were awarded Best Poster Award at Theoretical Chemistry Symposium (TCS 2014).
